PANAMERICAN WOODS S.A. (established in 1986)“ is a Costa Rican based company committed to the management of a responsible teak plantation, based on fundamental criteria of efficiency, cost effectiveness, quality, safety, environmental and social responsibilities always complying with all national laws and regulations and the FSC® principles and criteria.

We are currently one of the biggest FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council ®) plantation teak wood exporter in the whole American continent, comprising over 6 thousand acres of plantation in the Costa Rican northwestern Guanacaste province.

We commercialize teak logs (round and rough squares) FSC® 100%.

Costa Rica, the right products, the right place

Nestled within the heart of Central America, it is geographically well situated and can be reached easily from most U.S. cities. Every day, there are approximately 30 different passenger flights from Costa Rica to the US and Canada. Additionally, 60 weekly direct flights are scheduled to other destinations in Central America, South America and Europe. Furthermore the countrie€™s time zone coincides with the U.S. Central Standard Time Zone (GMT -6).

Panamerican Woods operates one of the largest commercial FSC® certified Teak plantation in Central America, comprising over 10,000 acres (3,800 hectares) in the northwest province of Guanacaste, and a state of the art flooring manufacturing facility.

Teak: The king of woods

The rare beauty of Teak wood, its golden brown luster, its decorative grain and unique properties have made it one of the most demanded woods in the world.

Teak is the most dimensionally stable and durable wood in the world, making it ideal for residential, garden and nautical flooring.

It can be used in all kind of weathers. Resisting water, metals and many chemical reagents.

The high level of resinous oil present in Teak, acts as a natural insect repellent to the attack by termites and other wood boring insects.

Ecological plantation

Established in 1986 and with more than 10 years of being FSC® certified, Panamerican Woods is a Costa Rican based company committed to the management of a responsible Teak plantation.

We operate one of the largest commercial Teak plantations in Central America, comprising over 6,000 acres (2,777 hectares) in the northwest province of Guanacaste.

What was once degraded pastureland has been transformed over the years into vast productive forest of teak (tectona gradis). Trees are planted, grown and harvested in accordance with the highest international forestry standards, converting carbon dioxide into needed oxygen and yielding exceptional wood for building materials.
